Family Literacy Programs
Provider: FAMILIES FORWARD LEARNING CENTER
The program provides family support services for families with children 6 weeks to 5 years of age who are not yet enrolled in kindergarten. Services include a family literacy program and family support centers/outreach. Service is restricted to residents of Pasadena and Altadena.
The program combines adult education three days per week, parenting and life management education one day per week and participation in the children's program one day per week. Parents also prepare for active involvement in their child's elementary school by serving on event planning and fundraising committees. Children simultaneously participate in an early childhood classroom education program.
