Literacy Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides library services for individuals in Covina and Los Angeles County. Services include adult literacy programs, library services, and literacy volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.

The library sponsors a literacy program for adults who want to develop reading skills. Adult volunteers attend 12 hours of Laubach literacy training before they are matched with an adult student.

The library recruits volunteers to assist with book processing, circulation tasks, Homework Help tutoring and literacy tutoring. The Friends of the Covina Public Library and the Covina Library Fund supports library activities.

A room is available for community group meetings and is reserved on a first-come, first served basis. Library staff are able, upon request, to make presentations for clubs and organizations. This library is a member of the Southern California Library Cooperative System (SCLC).
