Legal Services Volunteer Opportunities

Provider: LOS ANGELES FAMILY LAW HELP CENTER

The agency provides legal services, primarily for low income people who are representing themselves in Family Law matters such as annulments, custody/visitation, divorce, notary services, paternity cases, and restraining orders for both civil matter and domestic violence. Services include certificates/forms assistance and general legal aid. The agency also recruits and trains volunteers to assist with general legal aid matters. The agency does not provide legal representation; staff can refer litigants to other sources of legal assistance. There are no geographic restrictions.

All services are provided under the supervision of a licensed attorney and a certified legal document assistant.

The agency is conveniently located for litigants near the Family Court in downtown Los Angeles, however anyone can apply for service.
