The center provides mental health services for people of all ages who live in the Westside and Beach Cities area of Los Angeles County. Services include child guidance, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, general counseling services, individual counseling, marriage counseling, group counseling for parents and perinatal/postpartum depression counseling. There are no geographic restrictions.
The center offers individual, group, conjoint, family and child counseling. The center specializes in clinical approaches for problems such as adoption, anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, substance abuse, and trauma. The program also addresses the problems of perinatal and postpartum depression.
Group parent counseling is available for parents with children age 18 and younger. Groups are facilitated by Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) trainees and interns, under the supervision of a licensed MFT. Two-hour sessions focus on sharing ideas and support. On site art therapy is provided for children while their parents participate.
There is an international counseling program that provides support to diverse communities and deals wth inter-faith, cross cultural and intergenerational families. Counseling is provided to families with limited English proficiency.
The center also offers a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender) program.
Referrals to community physicians and/or psychiatrists are provided when appropriate. The agency also offers support groups as an ancillary service.
