Telephone Service Providers (Inmates)
Provider: CONNECT NETWORK GTL - CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS INMATE TELEPHONE SERVICE
The company provides telephone service for inmates of California prisons and jails, and their friends and family, using a prepaid account, or by arranging for direct billing to a major telephone company such as AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon. Calls are not completed to customers who have prepaid cell phones or other similar non-subscription cell phone services.
If an inmate calls a customer who does not have a GTL direct bill account, the automated system will call the number and leave a message to call GTL to set up a direct bill account in order to receive collect calls on their cell phone.

Application Procedure
The called party (family or friends) must set up the GTL service either online at www.correctionsgtl.com or by calling the customer service phone. To enroll you must provide current copy of your cell phone bill; you may be asked to FAX it to the company to verify cell phone number as well as your current billing name and address. Post Office box addresses are not accepted. The account will be established when billing information is verified.
Fees
Prepaid accounts may load up to $100 dollars at a time; direct bill accounts are charged by the minute up to $100 monthly use. The limit will be extended after 3 months of on-time payments. Los Angeles County calling rates for both collect and prepaid calls are $1.25 surcharge plus .15 per minute for all areas including out of state calls.
