Volunteer Opportunities

The library provides volunteer opportunities for individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include literacy volunteer opportunities and volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.

The literacy program accepts adults, 18 years and older, to become one-on-one tutors for adult learners. No previous experience is necessary but volunteers must register for a 5-hour Tutor Workshop. There is a requirement of a minimum of one year of volunteer service and most tutors meet with adult learners once a week for 1.5 hours.

Additional volunteer opportunities may include Tech Coaches, Friends of the Monrovia Library Store clerks, office administration assistants and local historical preservation assistants.

Volunteers should be 18 years and older; and commit to six months, 6 hours per month.
