Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance

The program provides emergency food for residents of the West San Fernando Valley, including people who are homeless. Services include ongoing and occasional emergency food assistance and soup kitchens. Services are restricted to residents of zip codes 90290, 91301, 91302, 91303, 91304, 91306, 91307, 91311, 91324, 91335, 91356, 91364, 91367 and 91371.

The program provides bags of groceries containing canned and packaged dried food and USDA surplus food. A hot meal is served twice a month. Infant formula, baby food, and powdered milk may be available. The amount of food varies with family size but it is usually enough to last approximately three days. The program stresses that food is distributed to the address, not to several different residents of the same address. People are eligible for assistance once per month.
