Certificates/Forms Assistance (Housing Issues)

Provider: LEGAL AID FOUNDATION OF LOS ANGELES - INGLEWOOD SELF HELP ACCESS CENTER

The agency provides housing services to people who face eviction for low-income people who live in the city of Los Angeles (excluding the San Fernando Valley) and portions of Los Angeles County. This service may include certificates/forms assistance, eviction prevention legal assistance, and landlord/tenant assistance. Applicants must meet low-income requirements.

The agency's Eviction Defense Center assists with landlord/tenant issues. Staff may provide counsel and advice regarding housing issues (regardless of whether an eviction is pending), help prepare answers to evictions, prepare tenants for trial when representing themselves. Staff may also represent eligible tenants in court. Staff may also assist tenants with slum conditions, tenants dealing with issues related to rent control, and military veterans. 

The agency's Self Help Centers provide certificate/forms assistance related to the eviction process.

Clients that need landlord/tenant dispute resolution are referred to Dispute Resolution agencies.

Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:30pm. No new intakes will be accepted after 12:00pm for the morning hours and after 4:00pm for the afternoon hours.
