Computer Literacy Training Programs (At Risk Youth)
Provider: CHALLENGERS BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS
The agency provides youth services for youth, age 6 to 17 in Los Angeles. Services include boys and girls club services, computer classes, juvenile delinquency diversion programs, tutorial services, recreation programs, youth development and summer camps. The agency programs are targeted, but not restricted to African Americans. There are no geographic restrictions.
The club offers diverse programs and activities with the goal of fostering citizenship, sportsmanship and personal and team development. Recreational activities include arts and crafts, photography and camping. Educational support includes counseling, tutoring, homework assistance, and computer instruction. The club provides transportation from school for youth whose schools are in the general area, for a monthly fee. Interested parents attend a transportation meeting. Parents are required to volunteer 5 hours a month in the program, and to attend a parent meeting held every 4th Saturday.
Summer day camp is available during the summer school break; call for specific dates and details.

Application Procedure
Call the phone number to make an appointment. New member orientations are required for child and parent. A birth certificate for children ages 6 through 9 , is required for enrollment.

Fees
There is a $25 registration fee, then $40 a week. There are no fees for ICEF students.
