Health Insurance/Dental Coverage

Provider: LAUSD - CHILDREN'S HEALTH ACCESS AND MEDI-CAL PROGRAM

The District provides health insurance options through the Children's Health Access and Medi-Cal Program (CHAMP) for families with children age 19 and younger. Services include Affordable Care Act information/counseling, state/local health insurance information/counseling and health insurance/dental coverage. Families must reside within the Los Angeles Unified School District, however staff will screen any family for eligibility. Assistance is available for lawfully present residents and non-residents. There are no geographic restrictions for Covered California assistance.

The CHAMP Helpline assists parents in finding health insurance for their children, and offers referrals to low-cost medical, dental and vision services.

CHAMP certified enrollment counselors conduct phone screening for eligibility, provide application assistance, present educational presentations at schools and community locations, and conduct follow-up to help families maintain their health insurance benefits over time.
