Abandoned Vehicle Reporting/Removal

The department provides law enforcement services for the city of Signal Hill. Services include abandoned vehicle reporting/removal, business security evaluations, child fingerprinting, child passenger safety seat inspections, crime prevention, drug use disorder education/prevention, juvenile diversion, gang programs, law enforcement complaints, municipal police, neighborhood watch programs, police reports residential security evaluations, and temporary restraining order assistance services. The service is restricted to the city of Signal Hill.

Temporary restraining order assistance is provided on a short term (72 hrs.), emergency basis only. Regular TROs must be applied for at a Superior Court location.

The department coordinates a Neighborhood Watch Program with residents, offers residential and business security inspections, and periodically provides fingerprinting services for children younger than age 18 so that parents have a means of identifying their child in an emergency situation.

The department can inspect child car seats to see if they are properly installed/or how to properly install and the correct size for a child.

The Department also provides part-time Drug Education officers who provides classroom instruction to local elementary schools. The officers also provide information about gang membership resistance and self esteem.
