Special Education

The agency provides special education services for emotionally disturbed children. Programs include a day school for children ages 6 through 17, and a pre-school for children ages 2 to 5. There are no geographic restrictions.
Northpoint school provides education with psychotherapy for youth, age 6 to 17, who have emotional and behavioral problems and whose needs cannot be met in a public school setting. The school provides an academic education; individual, group and family psychotherapy; speech, language, art and recreational activities; and parent education and counseling related to the child's program. Students may live at the agency's residential facilities or at home. Transportation is provided for children who live at home.
The preschool program is for children, ages 2 to 5, whose families live in Northridge and the surrounding communities. Family participation is required for children to be admitted into the preschool.
Medi-Cal eligible youth, 0 to 18 years of age, may receive developmental assessment services and behavior modification therapy through the CHDP program.
