Disaster Food Stamps

The agency provides disaster service programs for individuals affected by disasters. Services include disaster food stamps. Service is restricted to individuals and households who lived or worked in the impacted areas. 

The agency provides Disaster CalFresh (D-CalFresh) temporary 30-day food assistance to eligible individuals or households who are not currently receiving CalFresh benefits. D-CalFresh applicants must have experienced one of the following adverse actions:

  • Food loss or spoilage due to disaster or power outages; or
  • A loss of income, or a significant delay in receiving the income, or incurred disaster-related expenses that are not expected to be fully reimbursed.
  • D-CalFresh applicants also must meet additional D-CalFresh eligibility requirements including, but not limited to, complying with an interview, identity verification, and income limits.
