Court Ordered Parenting Programs (Teenage Parents)

The program provides youth services for teenage parents who have been involved in the Juvenile Court system or the L A County Probation Department. Services include mentoring programs and court-ordered parenting programs for expectant and parenting teenage fathers.
The program consists of a 24-hour course on parenting topics such as child development, prenatal care, the impact of incarceration, positive role modeling and family planning. Participants are matched one-on-one with mentors, who are recruited by community based organizations. Mentors are trained to implement a specially designed values curriculum. They also provide general assistance and support, while modeling positive parenting skills.

Young men are referred by LACOE programs in the Juvenile Court and Community Schools system.
