Provider: HACIENDA LA PUENTE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - AMAR CHILDREN'S CENTER
The center offers child care services for people who live within the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and in the eight Service Planning Areas, Priority 1 zip code areas. Services are targeted, but not restricted to low-income families. Services include preschool programs for children 24 months to 4 years; and pre-Kindergarten classes for children to age 4.11.
The preschool programs offer classes which are designed to provide information, support and positive experiences for parents and children, and which are particularly interested in reaching families who are at high risk for child abuse. The program accepts referrals from social service agencies and court referrals. Teacher-student ratios are one adult to four children, age 24 months to 36 months; and one adult to 8 children, ages 3 and 4. Pre-Kindergarten classes meet state requirements for math, language, reading, and science readiness. The center participates in the Los Angeles Universal Preschool program.
