Summer Food Service Programs

Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION - GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER PARK

The agency provides emergency food for children age 18 and younger in Los Angeles County, through the Summer Food Service Program. Services include summer food service programs. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.  

  The 2023 free Summer Lunch and Snack Program will start Monday June 12 to August 4.  

  The program is Monday through Friday, lunch is served from 12:00pm to 1:00pm and snack is served from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. 

   No lunch and snack will be provided on June 19th and July 4th.  

   Children and youth ages 18 and younger receive a nutritious lunch and snack that includes vegetables, fruit, seeds and healthy dairy products like milk, string cheese and yogurt.  

Youth meals will be available for dine-in only at enclosed designated areas. Lunch and snack will be provided to youth participants only.   

  In order for participating parks to qualify for the program, they must service areas, within the geographical boundaries of elementary, middle or high school attendance areas with at least 50 percent of its students eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.
