DEBRIS REMOVAL
The LA County Recovers page Debris Removal – LA County Recovers outlines the points below and details how the Department of Public Works (DPW) is partnering with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to assess and remove hazardous and other fire-related debris from impacted properties.
- Phase 1 Hazardous Waste Removal provided free of charge by the EPA
- Phase 2 General Debris Removal Options*
- Right of Entry Forms (RoE) available starting 1/28 to "opt in" or "opt out" for the Army Corps of Engineers to perform clean-up work.
*For questions related to Phase 2, call the USACE Debris Call Center at (877) 214-9117 Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 6:30pm, Saturday, 6:00am to 4:30pm, and Sunday, 6:00am to 2:30pm.
THE DEADLINE TO PARTICIPATE IS MARCH 31, 2025.

You may also visit a Disaster Recovery Center for in-person assistance. Disaster Recovery Centers are open to the public from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Additional Information about the debris removal process as well as additional resources is available on the DPW website or by calling the Debris Removal Hotline at (844) 347-3332 (844-FIRE DEBRIS), Mon - Fri, 7:00am to 7:00pm and Sat - Sun, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
Residents should not attempt to remove hazardous fire debris themselves.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REMOVAL FAQ
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has been assigned by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to survey, remove, and dispose of hazardous materials from properties impacted by the fires. This work is free to residents and is already underway with assistance from the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and local agencies.
