Clinical Psychiatric Evaluation

The institute provides child abuse services for children of all ages and their families in Los Angeles County. Services include abuse counseling, child abuse counseling, child abuse medical examinations, child abuse prevention for court ordered individuals, child psychiatric evaluation, group counseling, parent child interactive therapy, and sexual assault counseling. The program accepts court-ordered individuals. Age requirements apply for some services; there are no geographic restrictions.
Child abuse treatment includes forensic evaluations and psychiatric and medical evaluation, treatment and supportive services for children who have been sexually, emotionally or physically abused or neglected, and their non-offending family members. Individual, family and group treatment is provided.
The program also provides crisis intervention counseling for non-offending parents and/or abused children, comprehensive assessments for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), evaluations for the court and testimony in court in child abuse/neglect cases.
Child abuse prevention education is available for court ordered individuals. The program teaches non-offending parents and caregivers how to avoid potentially abusive situations and how to recognize the signs of abuse.
Staff provide multidisciplinary physical, developmental, and psychosocial assessments and treatment for children and youth age 0 to 21.
