Provider: CASA COLINA HOSPITAL AND CENTERS FOR HEALTHCARE - CHILDREN'S SERVICES
Casa Colina Children's Services is a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program that provides services for children with disabilities, ages 0 to 16 years. Pediatric rehabilitation is provided for disabilities resulting from traumatic brain injury; neurological injury or illness; developmental disability; autism; and medical or orthopedic disorders. Services include Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities/Delays, Pediatric Occupational Therapy, Pediatric Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, Social Skills Training, and Speech and Language Pathology. There are no geographic restrictions.
Children's Services provides outpatient pediatric clinical services and evaluations, a day program for brain injured children, and an Infant Development program for at risk and developmentally delayed children from birth to age 3. Services are provided in the home or in two center-based programs. For those children struggling with school success, Children's Services also provides neuropsychological evaluations and specialized tutoring through the Learning and Language Program.
Children are evaluated at intake in a variety of functional areas; specific diagnoses and treatment plans are developed; and individual case management and service coordination are provided. The day program offers an intensive, day-long program of coordinated therapies for brain injured children who can continue to live at home. Each child's care is individualized and stresses independence and self care. The treatment plan is evaluated and modified regularly so that its goals relate to the child's current level of functioning.
The Infant Development/Early Start program incorporates intensive family participation in all therapies so that parents learn skills which they can continue to utilize after therapy to assist in their child's progress. The program focuses on improving motor development, sensory skills, communication, play and self-help.
The Learning And Language program provides Specialized programs to enhance learning, and to improve attention in the classroom, handwriting, study skills, problem solving, organization and subject-specific strategies. Tutoring services are provided individually and in small group settings. Other groups to improve Social Skills development include Kids Crew for children 4 to 8 years of age, and Teen Scene for children ages 12 to 16. A specialized feeding program and weight management program is also offered.
