Citizenship Education
Provider: MONROVIA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - MONROVIA COMMUNITY ADULT SCHOOL
The school provides education services for people, age 18 and older, who live in Monrovia and the surrounding areas. Services include adult basic education, GED instruction, ESL classes and vocational education. Concurrent high school students may apply with recommendation from their counselors and people from other geographical areas may also attend.
The basic education classes include courses that people require to earn their high school diplomas or to prepare for the GED, to learn English as a second language, to prepare for citizenship, and to enhance their basic skills and knowledge. Courses are available in basic English, math, history, and science; in ESL at beginning and more advanced levels; to prepare for citizenship or enhance basic skills. A variety of vocational education classes are available for people who wish to develop or enhance their skills. Career guidance and counseling are available for all students.
Also available is a One Stop Career Center assisting students in such topics as resume writing, job searching and interviewing techniques.
ROP (Regional Occupational Program) classes are also available for students in a variety of occupations.

Application Procedure
Call the main adult school number for class and registration information or visit the school's website; registration is required for all classes. Adult school classes are held at a variety of community locations.
Fees
There are fixed fees for vocational classes; some also have an additional lab fee. There are no fees for ESL and basic academic classes.
