Work Experience (Young Adults)

Provider: LOS ANGELES CONSERVATION CORPS

The program provides a WIOA work experience program for low-income young adults, age 18 to 24 who live in the County of Los Angeles.

The program consists of alternating eight-week blocks of paid work experience and high school classes through a charter school. Classroom training may consist of Basic Skills Training, ESL, or GED preparation, and pre-employment training. Participants work at community conservation projects; the occupational focus of the work varies. Evaluation of student progress is done on a weekly basis by supervisors.

Support services for all workers are provided. Job placement assistance and follow-up client tracking for 12 months after completion of the program is also provided.
