Outreach Programs
Provider: FAMILIES IN SCHOOLS
The organization provides education services for public schools and community residents in Los Angeles County. Services include customized training for employees, educational advocacy, organizational consultation/technical assistance, and outreach programs. There are no geographic restrictions.
Customized training and technical assistance includes parent engagement training and curriculum for elementary school staff. Training focuses on teaching educators to successfully engage parents in their child's literacy development. Special programs also focus on helping educators work to prepare older students for college. A special course is also available to teach early education professionals how to deal with job-related stress.
Community outreach to increase parent involvement is also provided to parents of school-age children and community members.
