Computer Literacy Training Programs
Provider: KOREATOWN YOUTH AND COMMUNITY CENTER
The agency provides youth services for children and adolescents, grades K - 12, who live in Koreatown and the surrounding areas in the County of Los Angeles. Services include computer and related technology classes, day camps, juvenile delinquent prevention, leadership development, parent support groups, and tutoring services. Age and geographic restrictions apply.
The Children's Center provides early childhood education for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years. The Center is open year round, Monday through Friday, to meet the needs of working families.
Leadership development programs feature the Tutoring Education And Mentoring (TEAM) Program; Youth Drug Abuse Prevention Program (YDAPP); Youth Action and The Multi-Cultural Youth Leadership Program (MYLP). Participants gain skills in event organizing, public speaking, mobilizing volunteers, critical thinking, problem-solving, group dynamics that will help with personal and professional growth.
KYCC's Youth Services Unit provides programs and services that empower minority youth ages 5 to 18. Programs focus on academic achievement, leadership development, community service projects, prevention/intervention services and enrichment activities.
Seasonal Day Camps operate when children are on school break or summer vacation. Daily activities include math, reading and writing lessons, arts and crafts, sports, computer training, and teambuilding games and activities; weekly field trips are also included. Lunch is provided daily except on field trip days; children must bring a sack lunch to field trips.
