Job Search/Placement

Provider: UNITED STATES VETERANS INITIATIVE - LONG BEACH

The agency provides services for veterans of all ages, including women, in Los Angeles County. Services include a job search resource center, job search/placement, inpatient alcoholism treatment services, inpatient drug treatment services, prejob guidance, job search/placement, substance abuse day treatment, veterans support groups, and veterans reintegration counseling. Geographic restrictions apply for some services.

Special services are provided for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, including post traumatic stress disorder counseling. Additionally, staff work with veterans with high obstacles to reintegration. The program also targets homelessness prevention. Families can be receiving services from VASH but do not have to be referred by their VASH caseworker.

The job resource center provides re-entry programs to help veterans obtain and maintain employment. The program addresses barriers including lack of job skills, life skills issues, and health and mental health issues.

Women's services include assistance with Military Sexual Trauma and health issues.
