Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance
Provider: SALVATION ARMY CORPS COMMUNITY CENTER - LONG BEACH
The program provides emergency food for low-income families and homeless individuals who live in Hawaiian Gardens, Long Beach, Lakewood and Signal Hill. Household income eligibility is determined according to the federal poverty guidelines. Services include emergency food and USDA surplus food distribution. Services are restricted to Hawaiian Gardens, Long Beach, Lakewood and Signal Hill residents.
Bags of groceries include USDA food products, canned goods, bread, and dry boxed goods. A two-three day supply is provided.
People who are low-income may receive assistance every other month. Homeless individuals may receive assistance once a week.
Support services that are available for clients include information and referral for financial assistance, housing, medical, and legal services.
