Early Intervention for Children With Disabilities/Delays
Provider: HELP GROUP, THE
The center provides a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services for people with disabilities. The program serves people of all ages in Los Angeles county who are experiencing social, emotional, mental or educational difficulties. The agency provides developmental assessment; educational therapy; condition specific rehabilitation services for children with autism or Asperger's Syndrome, developmental disabilities, or learning disabilities; early intervention for children with special needs and tutorial services.
The agency combines the disciplines of psychology, psychiatry, speech-language pathology, and education to provide outpatient and day treatment services. People may be seen for educational remediation and tutoring or consultation in addition to individual and group therapy and parent counseling and education. These services are available for people who are having difficulties that are related to autism, Asperger's Syndrome, developmental delays, hearing loss, emotional disturbance, mental retardation, neurological dysfunction and learning disabilities.
Medi-Cal eligible youth, 0 to 18 years of age, may receive developmental assessment services and behavior modification therapy through the CHDP program.
The early intervention for children with special needs is designed for children with neurodevelopmental and social emotional delays. The program assesses the nature and degree of the challenges each child is confronting and fosters early development through an interdisciplinary approach. Services are provided at Culver City and Sherman Oaks campuses.
