The center provides services for people of all ages with developmental disabilities who live in Los Angeles County. The center provides comprehensive outpatient services for people from early childhood through adults who may be developmentally disabled, neurologically handicapped or emotionally disturbed. Services include autism therapy; condition specific rehabilitation services for autism, learning disabilities, and mental retardation; developmental assessment and early intervention for infants/toddlers with disabilities; and parent support groups. Age restrictions apply for some programs. There are no geographic restrictions.
The center offers developmental assessment and early intervention services; children who have multiple disorders are evaluated in one setting. The outpatient diagnosis and treatment program provides services for children with emotional disturbances and children and adults with developmental disabilities. Problems treated may include personality disorders, autism, mental retardation, learning disabilities, gross/fine motor problems, impulse control disorders and speech, language and hearing disorders. After diagnosis, individualized treatment plans may include psychiatry, psychological testing, educational psychology, psychotherapy, sensory integration therapy, pediatric occupational therapy, speech pathology, and developmental therapy.
