The agency provides mental health services for children, age birth to 18 and their families in Los Angeles County. Mental health services are provided for children and families as well as mental health services for the developmentally disabled. Services include child abuse counseling; child guidance; brief family therapy; general counseling services for at risk families; general mental health information/education; mental health evaluation; psychiatric medication monitoring; and psychiatric case management. There are age restrictions for some programs; there are no geographic restrictions.

Outpatient mental health services offers comprehensive psychiatric and mental health services, including crisis intervention for children of all ages and their families. Brief Family Therapy Team is designed to assist families in developing the tools for an improved life at home, school, work and community.

The Youth Development Project is a school based mental health service offered to at-risk youth at three Santa Monica schools providing crisis intervention, trainings and teacher consultation. The Families and Schools Together Team is also a school-based mental health service at several schools in Venice and Mar Vista providing individual, family and group psychotherapy and consultations to school staff.

Therapeutic day treatment program is available for pre-kindergarten children age two and one half through four and one half who come from low income or disadvantaged families whose children are experiencing emotional problems and qualify for a mental health diagnosis. The program includes intensive day treatment, individual and conjoint play therapy, psychological testing and psychiatric evaluation, and speech and occupational therapy. Emphasis is placed on parents' involvement in their child's growth and development. Parents participate with mental health rehabilitation specialist and other professionals in the classroom, planning projects and assisting in identifying special need areas.
