Program Overview
Homeless Family Services supports families with children who are experiencing homelessness by helping them access safe options during moments of crisis. By calling 2-1-1, families can connect to housing support and resource information in one place, making it easier to identify and pursue next steps.
Who This Program Serves
Families that include at least one minor child, pregnant individual, or qualifying dependent adult and are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

Shelter was provided immediately when no other options were available
How People Connect to the Service
- Families dial 2-1-1 24/7 for support
- Community Resource Advisors assess the household's situation and eligibility
- Based on need and availability, families are provided housing support and resource information for next steps
Funders & Partners
Homeless Family Services is funded by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) through city and county sources and partners with Family Solutions Centers, the Department of Public Social Services, and housing providers.
Homeless Family Services provides short-term crisis housing that can serve as a critical bridge for families with children facing immediate homelessness.
