Home Management Instruction

The agency provides early childhood education for families in designated areas of Los Angeles zip codes 90007 and 90037. This is a delegate/grantee agency for the Head Start program which administers the funding and coordinates the enrollment for the Head Start and Early Head Start services within its jurisdiction. The agency provides information about the Head Start/State Preschool program for interested people and refers callers who wish to enroll their children to the appropriate Head Start site. Services are restricted to residents within the boundaries of 10 freeway to the north, Western Ave. to the east, Martin Luther King Blvd. to the south, and Main St. to the west.

Parents and families of children enrolled in Head Start/State Preschool are eligible to receive additional services such as computer classes, family literacy classes, health referrals, job preparedness classes, parenting classes, and resume writing classes.

The Home-Based Program is housed at the USC School for Early Childhood Education. It provides services for pregnant women, infants and toddlers. Services include home visits, parenting skills, child development principles and health services. During COVID-19 pandemic, remote services may provided for children ages 0-5 years.
