Foster Parent/Family Recruitment
Provider: DAVID AND MARGARET YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES
The program provides foster home placement for dependent children of all ages who cannot remain in their homes. The agency also recruits, trains, and certifies potential foster parents. There are no geographic restrictions.
David & Margaret offers two different levels of foster care services as well as adoption services. Resource parenting is foster care which provides foster home placement for dependent children and youth age 0-21 who cannot remain in their homes. The agency recruits, trains and approves potential foster parents as well as provides ongoing financial and emotional support throughout the foster placement. Staff social workers conduct weekly visits and provide referrals for services that may be needed by the children. When appropriate, the biological family is also involved in the child's care and treatment. Treatment foster care is another level of foster parenting in which the foster parents attend specific training that enables them to join with a team of professionals to meet the needs of the child placed within their home. In addition to the foster parent, this professional team consists of an individual and family therapist, skills trainer and agency social worker who closely supervises the placement. David & Margaret has an Intensive Services Foster Care program. ISFC is a program designed to address the social and emotional needs of children (ages 6-18) whose trauma history has made is difficult for them to function in a regular foster care setting. The ISFC program utilizes Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidenced-based model aimed at helping the child with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder related to past history and placement experiences.
David & Margaret also has an adoption license and can facilitate adoptive placement and finalization for interested families.
