Transitional Housing/Shelter (Former Foster Children)

The agency provides a transitional housing program for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) ages 18 to 24 who live in Los Angeles County. Services include transitional housing/shelter. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency provides three programs: the Structured Independent Living Program (SILP); the Transitional Housing Program plus Foster Care for non-minor dependents; and the THP Plus for emancipated youth.
The Structured Independent Living Program (SILP) is for non-minor dependents (NMDs) who are provided with funding and a secured studio apartment located on the agency's campus.
The Transitional Housing Program plus Foster Care (THP FC) is for non-minor dependents (NMDs). The agency provides the youth with a leased apartment or find a host family to live and provide support services while they continue their pursuit of self-sufficiency.
The Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP-Plus) provides housing and services in apartment units for six males/females for a maximum of two years.
For all programs, the agency provides case management and linkage services to assist youth find jobs, enroll in school, learn independent living skills and become self-sufficient.

Application Procedure
Call the main number for information. Most referrals are through the County Department of Children's Services or Probation.
Fees
The fee rates are set and paid by the County for all youth who meet the criteria for placement.
