This program provides adult education services for people who live in Los Angeles County. Services include adult basic education, alternative education and tutorial services. There are no geographic restrictions.
The program offers individualized, self-paced instruction to improve basic educational skills for adults age 18 and older. Assistance is available for people who are preparing for the college entrance exam (SOAR) or other exams or for people who need assistance with remedial work. The center utilizes classes, tutoring, computer assisted instruction (CAI), and teaching aids to improve skills such as reading, spelling, vocabulary, and math. Participants determine their own goals and work with staff to set up a schedule that meets their personal needs.
