Ongoing Emergency Food Assistance (HIV Infections)

Provider: AIDS PROJECT LOS ANGELES - VANCE NORTH NECESSITIES OF LIFE PROGRAM - VENICE

The agency provides emergency food assistance for low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. Services include ongoing emergency food assistance, and volunteer opportunities. Services are restricted to Service Planning Areas (SPAs) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8.

 The ongoing emergency food assistance service is a supplemental food assistance and nutrition education program. During visits a variety of items such as fresh produce, canned goods, dry goods, and protein items are received.

 The program actively recruits volunteers to work with the food distribution program.

Application Procedure
Clients must provide photo ID, proof of income and proof of residency in Los Angeles County. A Nutrition Screen completed by a dietician or medical provider at their own health care facility or have a signed Nutrition Education Form from AIDS Project Los Angeles and proof of HIV status is also required.

First-time clients must provide a medical diagnosis form. Clients are required to re-enroll a year from their enrollment date.
