Disaster Specific Rent Assistance (Homeowners)

The agency provides disaster specific rent assistance targeted to homeowners in Los Angeles County. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Emergency Rent Relief Program provides financial assistance to qualifying property owners impacted by financial hardships including the Eaton and Palisades fires. The program provides up to six months of rent or mortgage debt or a maximum award of $15,000 per rental unit.
Eligible property owners include, landlords such as individuals or entities with unpaid rent or other eligible expenses for properties in Los Angeles County, including those impacted by the the January 2025 wildfire events or any other emergency financial hardships. And displaced homeowners that have been displaced due to the January 2025 wildfire events and have unpaid rent in their current rental homes and exhausted FEMA/insurance rental support.
Applications will open on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 9:00 am PST. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, January 23, 2026 at 4:59 PM PST.
