Recreational Activities/Sports (Youth)
Provider: BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF SANTA CLARITA VALLEY - NEWHALL
The club provides youth services for boys and girls ages 7 to 17 in the Santa Clarita Valley. Services include arts and crafts instruction, leadership development, photography instruction, recreational activities/sports, tutorial services and extended day care during the summer. There are no geographic restrictions.
Personal tutoring includes general homework assistance, reading programs, a computer lab and personal guidance. A daily snack is provided every afternoon. During summer break extended care breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided.
The athletics and physical education program includes club-sponsored leagues in basketball, soccer and softball, and periodic sports clinics. Outdoor and environmental education include an annual rodeo, camperships, hikes on local trails, and recycling projects. Social recreation activities include indoor games, movies and cooking lessons. Special events include excursions to museums, amusement parks and tours of businesses, colleges and government agencies.
Extended day care is available during the summer break from 7:00am to 11:00am. Regular club hours are available after that.
