Welfare Rights Assistance

The agency provides advocacy services for people of all ages in Los Angeles County (excluding the San Fernando Valley). Services include benefits and services assistance and welfare rights assistance. Geographic and income restrictions apply.

The program provides advocacy to ensure that people receive the benefits to which they are entitled, including CalWORKs, CAPI, CalFresh, foster care, General Relief, In Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Medi-Cal, Social Security and SSI (not for initial application of SSI). Assistance includes forms assistance, legal counseling and representation at fair hearings.
