Arts and Crafts Instruction

The department provides a wide variety of recreation and leisure services for people of all ages who are South El Monte residents. Services include aerobics, arts and crafts instruction, dance instruction, drop in afterschool care, homework help, leisure activities, recreational activities/sports, tiny tots, and travel. Services are restricted to South El Monte residents.

Children services include tiny tots, arts and crafts, ballet folklorico, dance, and excursions. Summer programs include park and playground activities.

After the Bell is an afterschool drop in program for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Trained recreation staff provide a variety of sports, games, arts and crafts for children; homework assistance may also be available. The program is provided at two community locations and does not operate on rainy days.

Youth services include organized sports/leagues, boxing, cheerleading, tennis, dance, homework help and teen excursions. Boxing instruction is open to residents and non-residents.

Adult services include aerobics, tennis, sports leagues and excursions. Senior services are offered at the South El Monte Senior Center (see the separate entry).
