Temporary Restraining Orders (Elder Abuse Victims)

Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION - DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LEGAL SERVICES PROJECT

The program provides domestic violence legal services for people of all ages, including survivors of intimate partner violence, elderly litigants physically assaulted by others, survivors of sexual assault by a non-intimate partner who live in Los Angeles County. Services include crime victim support, and temporary restraining orders. There are no geographic restrictions.

Services include assistance with the forms needed for a temporary restraining order (TRO), and instructions on the filing and services process. People who apply for TROs may include battered women, immediate family members, dating relationships, same-sex relationships and older people who are victimized by elder abuse. Volunteers prepare the legal documents required to obtain a TRO.
