Child Kidnapping Alert Programs
Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY - CHILD ABDUCTION UNIT
The unit provides child protective services for children and families in Los Angeles County. Services include parental kidnapping legal assistance and child kidnapping alerts and assistance, including assistance with international abductions. There are no geographic restrictions.
The unit enforces family court orders in cases when a child has been abducted or concealed from a parent in violation of a custody order. Specially trained investigators physically recover children and bring them back to their lawful custodians. Staff work with international treaties and protocols to return children that have been abducted to other countries from Los Angeles County.

Application Procedure
Call for service; visit the unit's website for more information. Parents must present a currently valid custody order and an Order to the District Attorney's Office and complete a Child Abduction Questionnaire.
