Case/Care Management (Veterans, Women)

The agency provides job training services for women and women veterans in Los Angeles County. Services include case/care management, job training formats and veteran employment centers. There are no geographic restrictions.

Women in Non-Traditional Employment Roles (WINTER) provides case/care management and job training programs in highly-skilled technical trades such as construction, green retrofitting and environmental mitigation (such as asbestos and removal hazardous waste abatement).

The program for women veterans provides additional support for unemployed women veterans who seek to reenter the workforce.

The vocational center, WinterGreen, offers an intensive two to ten week job training session to adult women that primarily focuses on skills to enter industries such as construction, environmental remediation and green jobs; sessions may include asbestos abatement, HAZMAT lead, hands-on pre apprenticeship training, safety instruction and OSHA certificate programs. Certifications include: 30hr OSHA Construction, Permit Required Confined Space, CPR/First Aid, Forklift, National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and Work Competencies.

Secondary services include life skills, employment support and financial assistance for items such as tools, uniforms and transportation assistance (subject to availability of funds.)
