The agency provides recreational activities to individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include art galleries/exhibits, film presentations, humanities events, library services, museums, public lectures/discussions, special libraries, and special library collections. There are no geographic restrictions.
This is a cultural center whose focus is the production, exhibition and preservation of public art (murals) and the development of resources for public art.
Services include the production of public murals such as the Great Wall of Los Angeles Mural in the Tujunga Wash, and indoor gallery space for art shows whose subjects range from fine art to socially-oriented art.
A resource library houses the largest slide and article collection in the nation on public art. The collection documents public art throughout the world, including information on how the art is produced. The center also offers audio visual materials and slides for sale and rent.
The outreach department sponsors community art projects, lectures, film screenings, and workshops.
