Trash/Garbage Pickup

The agency provides conservation services in the city of Los Angeles. Services include backyard conservation, electronic waste recycling, hazardous materials collection sites, hazardous waste control, trash/garbage pick up, large item trash/garbage pickup, organizational development and management services, printed materials, recycling, and yard waste recycling. Services are restricted to the city of Los Angeles.

The office provides conservation services for the City of Los Angeles including residential recycling programs; electronic waste recycling; green waste recycling; commercial recycling; technical assistance; community education; hazardous waste disposal for offices, businesses, and apartments; mulching program and services for implementing source reduction, recycling and buy recycled program for the City of Los Angeles.

Technical assistance is provided to help large waste producers set up recycling programs. The agency also offers brochures and publications with information on reducing waste through source reduction, waste prevention, re-use, recycling, composting and buy-recycled strategies.

The city offers a once a year annual brush (yard trimmings) collection free of charge to all households serviced by the Bureau of Sanitation. All yard trimmings must be bundled and tied, no longer than 4 feet long and no heavier than 30 pounds.
