Family Support Centers/Outreach (Families of Active Military Personnel)

The agency provides family support services for military families in Los Angeles County and throughout the United States. Services include family support centers/outreach. There are no geographic restrictions.
The YMCA's are offering membership to eligible military families nationwide. The membership allows families to spend quality time together, enjoy activities in a supportive environment and a place to meet other military families.
Eligibility for membership includes Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Airforce, National Guard and Reservist personnel including family members of deployed National Guard and Reservists. Also eligible are Active Duty Independent Duty personnel and their families; Relocated Spouse/dependent children of deployed Active Duty personnel; and wounded service members assigned to a community based Warrior in Transition Unit.
The Relocated Spouse/dependent children of deployed duty personnel who relocate away from an installation/duty station while the active duty service member is deployed must also meet the following criteria: the service member is on active duty; the service member is deployed for a minimum of six months (on deployment orders-not unaccompanied orders, not geographic bachelors); and the spouse has relocated away from the military installation where the service member is assigned.

Application Procedure
Families call the Military OneSource toll-free number to confirm eligibility and receive an eligibility form. Find a participating YMCA by going to the YMCA of the USA web site at www.ymca.net. Fill out and bring the eligibility form, Military ID and any other documents to the participating YMCA.
Individuals who might not meet all the eligibility requirements can contact the YMCA to discuss alternative financial arrangements.

Membership fees are underwritten and administered through the Military OneSource.

Military OneSource hours are Monday through Sunday, 24 hours per day. The YMCA of the USA hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, CST.
