Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites
Provider: HUMAN SERVICES ASSOCIATION - DOWNEY COMMUNITY SENIOR CENTER
The program provides congregate meals for older adults age 60 and older at several sites in the Southeastern area of Los Angeles County, including the cities of Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Cerritos, Commerce, Downey, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood and Paramount. The hot meal is served five days per week. Seniors have the opportunity to socialize and to participate in various educational and recreational activities. There are no geographic restrictions.

Application Procedure
Call the individual nutrition sites for reservations 24 hours in advance.
Fees
The suggested donation is $2.25 per meal. People who are younger than 60 are asked to contribute $4.50 per meal. If one spouse is 60 or older, the younger spouse pays only $1.50. No one is turned away due to inability to contribute.
