Crisis Intervention Hotlines/Helplines (Adoption/Foster Care Issues, Foster Parents)

Provider: CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES - FAMILY URGENT RESPONSE SYSTEM - FURS

The program provides support to foster families and former foster youth seeking help or resources in California. Services include crisis intervention hotlines/helplines. There are no geographic restrictions and local response is available.

The FURS program is a safe, judgement-free,and private space for current or former foster youth and their caregivers to call and get immediate help. The hotline is staffed by counselors trained in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques for children and youth impacted by trauma. In-person assistance, follow-up and ongoing support are also available.
