Adoption and Foster/Kinship Care Support Groups

The agency provides adoption services for children and families in Los Angeles County. Services include adoptive family recruitment, children's respite care, foster family recruitment, support groups for adoptive and foster parents, and volunteer opportunities. The agency is committed to building a faith-based system of families and volunteers. There are no geographic restrictions.

Staff recruit adoptive and foster (resource) families through local churches and refers them to the county or to a private agency to be certified or licensed. Families may participate in support groups during the interim; groups are also open to the public.

The agency also recruits and refers agencies to become certified respite care providers who can take care of a child for a day, an overnight stay, or longer.

Volunteer opportunities include preparing welcome baskets and assisting at program parties, support groups, or major events. The agency also accepts monetary and in-kind donations including clothing, child care equipment, and professional services.
