Provider: CITY OF INGLEWOOD PARKS, RECREATION AND LIBRARY SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The department provides recreational programs, cultural activities and special events at numerous city locations for people of all ages who live in Inglewood. Services include art instruction, arts and crafts instruction, dance instruction, music instruction, physical fitness, recreation activities and classes, special events, sports and social clubs. It also operates a number of facilities which are open to the public.

The services offered include youth and adult sports; arts and crafts; classes in dance, drama, music, art and fitness; and social clubs for seniors age 50 and older, for junior high school age youth, and for special interest groups. In addition, the department offers an after school recreation program for students of the Inglewood Unified School District which is held at school sites. An off-track recreation program is offered for year-round Inglewood students at Darby Park.

The facilities run by the department include tennis courts, a swimming pool, meeting rooms and a senior center. See also the separate entry for the Inglewood Senior Community Center.
