Illegal Dumping Reporting

The Department provides public work services for the City of Long Beach. Services include flood/siltation control, hazardous materials roundup, illegal dumping reporting, large appliance pickup/recycling programs, parking meter services, residential recycling programs, roadside landscape maintenance, street cleaning, street construction/repair, street lighting maintenance, street traffic control, traffic signal maintenance and trash/garbage pickup. Services are restricted to the residents of the City of Long Beach.

Public Works is responsible for maintaining streets, sidewalk, street trees, manages the graffiti abatement program and provides maintenance and repair to City facilities.

The Traffic and Transportation Bureau is responsible for the planning, design and construction of major public traffic facilities and capital improvements. The Bureau is also responsible for the maintenance of all traffic signals, parking meters, street markings and signs.

The Environmental Services Bureau provides the following services: large appliance pickup/recycling programs, recycling, refuse collection, street sweeping/parking enforcement and household hazardous waste services.

The Long Beach Storm Water Management Program is a comprehensive program aimed at reducing or eliminating pollutants in storm water. The Storm Water Hotline is available to report illegal dumping of non-hazardous materials in storm drains.
