Job Search/Placement

The program provides job readiness training for dislocated workers, age 18 and older; and prejob guidance and job readiness training for CalWorks recipients referred by the GAIN program in Los Angeles County. There are no geographic restrictions.

GAIN program participants are referred by their GAIN Service worker to the program. Job Club and job bank services are provided at regional Job Club centers throughout the county (see the site list). Job developers and Career Development Program Specialists provide guidance and training and job search/placement services for GAIN participants.

Training helps participants to identify personal job skills; to overcome personal barriers or weaknesses to employment; to identify useful employment contacts; and how to overcome job-search setbacks. Job interview skills and resume preparation techniques are also provided.
